LA Civil Rights Hosts Faith Leaders Dinner

LOS ANGELES - The Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights) hosted its first in-person Faith Leaders dinner last night, bringing together leaders from many different faiths in Los Angeles. 

The event, which was one of many interfaith and community building events hosted by LA Civil Rights, brought leaders together to break bread, strengthen their relationships, and work toward peace and empowerment throughout Los Angeles.

The dinner included representatives from the Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, and Christian faiths. Faith-Based Unity and Diversity Events are one of LA Civil Rights' five core pillars for Community Outreach & Engagement, which also includes Discrimination/Bias Awareness Training, Hate Crime Prevention, Discrimination Enforcement Outreach.

Participants not only shared a meal, but engaged in facilitated discussion on faith, leadership and community in Los Angeles. The event was held under the "LA For All" framework developed by LA Civil Rights, which seeks to celebrate LA's diverse communities while standing in solidarity for an inclusive, peaceful and pluralistic city.

The dinner was the first in-person faith leaders event, with more programming to come.
