Capri Maddox, Executive Director

Capri is a former president of the Los Angeles Board of Public Works and senior advisor to City Attorney Mike Feuer. During the 2018-19 school year, Maddox served as Executive Director of Partnerships for the Los Angeles Unified School District — assisting the district with acquiring more than $43 million in resources for students in need and several equity-based initiatives.

Keith Parker, Commissioner

Keith is the retired UCLA Assistant Vice Chancellor, Government & Community Relations, and a member of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles and the California Coalition for Public Higher Education. Keith arrived at UCLA in July 1981, initially serving in Campus Human Resources, and transitioned to External Affairs in November of 1998. Keith is a resident of Los Angeles.

Maegan Ortiz, Commissioner

Maegan is Executive Director of Instituto de Educación Popular del Sur de California (IDEPSCA), and brings over 20 years of leadership, development and grassroots experience in nonprofit work. She spent more than a decade as an independent journalist covering issues that affect the Latino community, including immigration policy.

Aziza Hasan, Commissioner

Aziza is Executive Director of NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change, and an experienced mediator and conflict transformation practitioner. She served on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, and is a member of the Mayor’s Interfaith Collective.

Helena Marissa Montes, Commissioner

Helena is Co-Director of the Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic, which brought direct immigration legal services through clinical legal education to the East Side of Los Angeles An adjunct professor at Loyola Law School, she is currently a Hispanic National Bar Association Latina Commissioner and Mexican American Bar Association Trustee.

Araceli Campos, Commissioner

Araceli Campos is Executive Director of the Miguel Contreras Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to serve and empower working families in Los Angeles County. She has served as national Corporate Counsel for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and is a past Board Member and Civil Rights Committee Chair for the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles (MABA).

Abigail Zelenski, Commissioner

Abigail Zelenski is the founding attorney at Zelenski Law, a boutique firm that focuses on servicing clients on employment and labor issues, including general advice and counsel, wrongful termination, harassment, wage and hour, and litigation.
