Arien Tecson Presentation

"As a community, it’s important that we practice kindness. Through solidarity and care for others, we can grow, bloom, and thrive together. To represent growth, I used the imagery of flowers native to Los Angeles: the bush poppy and birds of paradise. Their shades of oranges and yellows symbolize the warmth of our city. To represent unity and solidarity, I used two holding hands in the center of my design with flower stems climbing and growing around them. The bright blue background sends good vibes as they emulate a day with clear, beautiful skies— the kind we see so often here in Los Angeles. The pale blue arch brings in more focus on the unity of hands. It also resembles the arch of doorway, as the LA Civil Rights and Equity department provides an open door for our community." -- Arien Tecson
