Nicole Bryant

Nicole Bryant has served as the founding Chief Operating Officer since the City Council and Mayor established the LA Civil Rights Department in 2020.  Nicole oversees the department’s $5.2 million budget, grant administration, philanthropic efforts, and communications, including the award-winning LA for All campaign. Nicole manages the department’s intellectual property by partnering with the Office of the City Attorney to execute licensing agreements and obtain trademarks. She also leads our Policy Fellows Internship Program, where she leans into her passion of mentoring high school, college, and law school students. 

Beginning her public service career as a Student Worker herself, Nicole worked to rise through the ranks at the County of Los Angeles, where she promoted to several positions, including Senior Analyst to the County’s Chief Executive Officer. In that role, she ensured vendor contract compliance with local, state, and federal laws and participated in executive management work groups tasked with eliminating racial inequities and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors to improve the lives of women and girls. Nicole’s efforts have improved the lives of marginalized populations and earned her various commendations. In addition to her professional accolades, Nicole holds a Master of Public Administration and Juris Doctorate with a Concentration in Entrepreneurship and Technology Law.
