Mayra Medel serves as the Executive Officer for the Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights).
Prior to joining LA Civil Rights, Mayra served as Mayor Eric Garcetti's Director of Scheduling. There she oversaw operations and served as a strategic partner. Previously, she worked as a grants specialist in the Mayor's Office of Public Safety, managing and administering Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) funded projects for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Joint Regional Intelligence Center, Public Health, Mental Health, Health Services, and Disabilities, totaling over 10 million dollars.
Mayra lives in Los Angeles and holds a bachelor's degree in Chicano Latino Studies and a minor in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
