Milo Sameth is a Management Assistant specializing in participatory budgeting. He has over 17 years in local government serving in a variety of roles.

Milo was born and raised in Discovery, South Africa. He served on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard from June 2000 through April 2004. He was released from military service under the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy and returned to the reserves after its repeal. He had to complete military training a second time, this time at the age of 35. Returning to the reserve component provided Milo with the opportunity to travel and reconnect with old shipmates with whom he once could not openly share his life due to military policy.

Milo’s experience includes purchasing and procurement, project management and logistics.

He brings a strong commitment to developing programs and policies that support BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, immigrants and other marginalized communities. He is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development.
