Mark Pampanin serves as Communications Director for the Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights).
Mark has served the City of Los Angeles since 2017 as a speechwriter, digital communicator and press secretary. Prior to joining LA Civil Rights, Mark served as Director of Communications and Speechwriter for City Councilmember David Ryu, representing Los Angeles' Fourth District. He previously worked on local and congressional campaigns.
Mark has also worked as a journalist and public speaker, with bylines in Southern California Public Radio, WBUR, the Los Angeles Times, and has spoken at the Iowa Safe Schools Governor's Conference for LGBTQ+ Youth and on the TEDx Stage. He currently serves on the board of GLSEN Los Angeles, supporting LGBTQ+ students in K-12 schools across Los Angeles County.
